• Protect the Surgical Site: Avoid touching the area, rinsing, or spitting on the day of surgery.
  • Control Bleeding: Light bleeding is normal. If needed, bite on gauze for 30 minutes. If bleeding continues, contact our office.
  • Manage Swelling: Use ice for the first 36 hours while awake and keep your head elevated. After 72 hours, switch to warm compresses with gentle massage.
  • Eat Soft Foods: Start with liquids and soft foods. Stay hydrated. Avoid chewing on any healing caps.
  • Manage Pain: Use recommended Tylenol or ibuprofen. Take prescribed medications as directed. Do not drive if using narcotics.
  • Care for Sutures: Most dissolve on their own. If not, they will be removed at a follow-up visit.
  • Maintain Oral Hygiene: Begin saltwater rinses the next day. Brush gently around the area and any healing caps.
  • Limit Activity: Rest the first day. Avoid strenuous activity until you feel stable.
